"One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man."

"A thinker sees his own actions as experiments and questions--as attempts to find out something. Success and failure are for him answers above all."

Digital Communications - Something to Say

The Assignment

For this assignment, you will select one of the primary communication types (to inform, to persuade, to entertain), and prepare a 3-5 minute informal presentation to give in class next week.  You will not be graded on use of digital tools, although you may use whatever tools or visuals you choose.

The purpose of this exercise is to focus on the idea of communication in general.  I will be watching for the following things:

1. Did you choose a communication purpose and a topic that works with it?

2. Did you prepare for the presentation ahead of time?

3. How well did you get your main idea across?

4. Did you accomplish your purpose?

5. Did you speak clearly, make good eye contact, and present without reading constantly?

6. Did you maintain good posture / movement / gestures?

Each of these areas will be worth 10 points.  This makes the presentation worth 60 points.
